Frequently asked questions
Where is the studio located and is there parking?
Maka Studios is located in Laureles, Medellín, with easy access from El Poblado and the rest of the city. We have private parking so you can arrive with your gear comfortably and safely.
Does the rental include technical assistance?
Depending on the plan you choose, the studio can arrive ready with configured lighting. You’ll also always have support for basic setup and the use of the available equipment. If you need a dedicated assistant throughout the session, let us know when booking and we’ll arrange it.
Can I customize the décor and backdrops?
Yes. We adapt the décor, backdrops and lighting schemes to your production concept. Just let us know in advance what atmosphere you need and we’ll prepare the set for your session.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking 48 to 72 hours in advance to secure your date’s availability and prepare the set according to your production requirements.
What is the cancellation policy?
A 50% deposit is required to book. In case of cancellation, that deposit lets you reschedule your session subject to availability. Message us on WhatsApp to learn the details of your case.
What lighting equipment is included in the rental?
The studio has continuous and flash lights, softboxes, a beauty dish, reflectors and professional stands. Depending on the plan, the lighting can be pre-configured for your type of session, and you can always adjust it to your creative proposal.
Can I use the white cyclorama and the black backdrop in the same session?
Yes. The studio offers a white cyclorama, a black backdrop and other setups you can combine within your block of hours. Just factor in the changeover time between setups to make the most of your booking.
Do you have a makeup area, wardrobe and kitchen?
Yes. We have a makeup area with a lit mirror, a wardrobe area for outfit changes and a kitchen available for your team during the production. These spaces are designed so your session flows comfortably.
How many people can be in the studio during the session?
The space is spacious and accommodates crews, models and companions. For large productions we recommend letting us know when booking so we can coordinate the space and ensure comfort for everyone.
Can I shoot video as well as photography?
Of course. The studio is suitable for both photography and video: the lighting, the cyclorama and the acoustics allow photo, video and social-media content sessions in the same space.
How can I book and what payment methods do you accept?
You can book by messaging us on WhatsApp or through the booking button on this page. We accept bank transfer and the main payment methods. Your booking is confirmed once we receive the agreed payment or deposit.
